A vector-valued generalized Lagrangian is constructed for a multiobjective nonlinear fractional programming problem. A multiobjective dual is considered using the Lagrangian. Using Pareto efficiency, duality theorems are proved, without assuming differentiability.

The classical single facility job sequencing problem is considered where the processing cost is a quadratic function of the processing time. Jobs also incur a delay cost based on the residence time in the facility. The algorithm developed enables the finding of the optimal sequence and processing times that minimizes total cost.

The usefulness of design theory in statistics has been long established. The investigation of incidence properties of the figures (subsets) in a design provides a very effective tool to characterize embedded geometric objects from combinatorial point of view, see [1], …, [9]. In this note we introduce the concept of (a,b)-type sets. We deal with the first case: the (a, b)-type sets with1 ε (a, b). In particular we prove that the (1, 1)-type sets in a 2-(v, k, λ) symmetric design are exactly the two character sets and leave a more general case as an open problem.

Both parametric and nonparametric necessary and sufficient optimality conditions are established for a class of nonsmooth continuous-time programming problems. Subsequently, the structure and contents of these optimality results are utilized as a basis for constructing two parametric and four parameter-free duality models, and for proving weak, strong, and strict converse duality theorems. Furthermore, it is briefly pointed out how similar optimality and duality results can be derived for two special cases of the main problem containing arbitrary norms and square roots of positive semidefinite quadratic forms. These results generalize a number of similar results in the area of continuous-time programming, and subsume a great variety of cognate results originally developed for finite-dimensional nonlinear and fractional programming problems.
