摘要:
This lecture was one of three presented before the Institution of Production Engineers, Sydney Section, at Science House on Tuesday, 4th September, 1951. The other two lectures, which were presented by representatives from Howard Auto Cultivators Ltd., and British Standard Machinery Ltd., dealt with single point carbide tools.In this lecture, an attempt has been made to set out some of the features of multi-point carbide tools based on experiences at the Lithgow Small Arms Factory. In Australia, this field is relatively undeveloped and Mr. Allan's work in the Bren Gun Section is well ahead of that of most other organisations.It is considered that the graphical method of cost comparison which was developed provides a very satisfactory method of comparing the merits of high speed steel and carbide milling cutters on any job.
