摘要:
Caccourcterocele, a bizarre form of vesico‐urethral ureterocele, has two characteristics, (1) a wide incompetent orifice in the bladder and (2) a long submucosal tongue which extends along the female urethra deep to the mucosal lining of the urethra. The peculiar configuration of this ureterocele is not readily explained on the basis of obstruction, but rather on embryological grounds. The situation of the incompetent orifice in the bladder and the reflux of urine into the tongue in the urethra add a urethral obstructive component which induces urological damage. The Müllerian duct migration is responsible not only for the transposition of the orifices of some ectopic ureters from the trigone to the distal half of the female urethra, the urethrovaginal bridge and the hymen of the vagina, but also for the urethral extension of the caecoureterocele, which is “tongue‐tied” to the Müllerian ducts in their descent to the exterior. All other ureteroceles with “giant” orifices are likewise developmental in origin, though in many an obstructive component is superadded by virtue of the location of the orifice within the grasp of the internal sphincter o

摘要:
The microscopic anatomy of two rectobulbar fistula specimens was studied histologically in serial sections to determine the route taken by the fistulœ and the arrangement of the associated muscles and sphincters. It was found that the sole muscle available for reconstructive sghincter surgery was the levator ani complex, adapted and modified to the visceral ubnormality. In each case, the puborectalis sling was short, aid confluent inferiorly and posteriorly beneath the fistula with the bulbocavernosus muscle. The findings proved to be relevant to the techniques of surgical reconstruction of the anal canal in patients exhibiting this deformity

摘要:
Pancreatic ascites is a rare complication of acute pancreatitis. Only 14 cases of ascites accompanying pancreatitis have so far been reported in the English and American literature. Difficulties in diagnosis may be overcome if in all obscure cases of ascites in childhood the amylase content of the ascitic fluid is estimated. The patients whose cases were reported were treated in different ways, nine by a drainage operation, one by distal pancreatectomy, and four by non‐operative means. It is recommended that laparotomy should be performed to drain the pancreas if the child's condition deteriorate

摘要:
A case of chronic gastric ulccr in Q 12‐month‐old aboriginal infant who presented with hœmatemesis and melœna is described. The diagnosis was made at laparotomy, and a Billroth I gastrectomy was performed. A 12 months' follow‐up is presented, and diagnostic problems and possible nutritional scquelœ are d

摘要:
Recent advances in the technique of hepatic scanning with the use of radionuclides have made it useful to the surgeon in anatomical and pathological diagnosis. The ability to assess the progress of lesions within the liver or adjacent to it following injury or infection adds further to its value. This paper describes sonic recent experiences derived in the course of the use of such methods.

摘要:
In order to define the place of hepatic resection in the treatment of severe liver trauma, a clinical survey was carried out in the Auckland area. In the first 10 years no cases were treated by liver resection, and the mortality was 37%. In the more recent period since resection has been employed the mortality has been 7'7%. Case reports are presented to illustrate the type of patients suitable for resection. The theoretical basis for resection in trauma is outlined. Preoperative resuscitation, points of operative technique and the special problems in the after‐care of these patients are discusse

摘要:
A case of traumatic false aneurysm of the right hepatic artery causing jaundice three Months after cholecystectomy is reported. A review of the recent literature, and the role of trauma in the etiology of hepatic aneurysms, including their appropriate surgical management, are discussed.
