摘要:
When two bodies slide against each other, the resulting frictional heating leads to thermoelastic stresses that can play an important part in the mechanism of wear and surface fatigue failure. The contact pressure and heat input distributions are influenced by the thermal distortion of the bodies and vary in time as a result of wear. To investigate thermally induced failures in such systems, we therefore require a general numerical algorithm for calculating subsurface stresses for any arbitrary distribution of heat input in time and space. Green's Junctions for the surface values of displacement and temperature for the half-plane were given in the literature. In this paper, we derive appropriate Green's Junctions for the stresses and temperatures at a general point below the surface of the half-plane. Particular attention is paid to the presentation of the results in a form convenient for efficient numerical computations.

摘要:
A theory is presented for small thermoelastic deformations in a body that has already been subjected to a small thermoelastic deformation. The theory is used to study the torsion of an initially heated cylinder. Equations for isotropic thermoelastic bodies with a constant initial heat flux vector are also presented.

摘要:
The present paper is concerned with transient thermal stress in a transversely isotropic infinite solid containing an annular crack subjected to heat absorption and heat exchange on the crack surface. Since it is very difficult to obtain an analytical solution for the temperature field, the finite-difference method with respect to a time variable is introduced. Thermal stress is analyzed by means of the transversely isotropic potential functions method. Numerical calculations of the stress intensity factors in transverse isotropy were carried out for a transversely isotropic graphite. Furthermore, the effects of anisotropies of the material constants on the stress intensity factors are investigated.

摘要:
In this paper we use the convexity and strong ellipticity conditions in conjunction with the behavior of the material as a definite conductor of heat to establish the uniqueness and continuous dependence results in nonlinear thermoelasticity. By means of the weighted function method we establish the results for unbounded regions exterior to a bounded domain, as well as the half-space and similar regions contained in some half-spaces, provided the boundary is such that application of the divergence theorem remains valid.
