摘要:
Macroinvertebrate communities in the erosional biotope of a Nigerian stream were studied at three stations. The numbers of taxa recorded in these stations were similar. The total abundance and the abundance of major invertebrate groups in particular was not significantly different between stations. The dominant and subdominant taxa at these stations showed slight variability in qualitative composition. The relative abundance of all major invertebrate groups showed irregular temporal variations at all three stations, but the magnitude of these variations was lesser at station 2, the construction site, suggesting increased faunal stability. Margalef's taxa richness (D) at station 2 was high, but Shannon-Wiener general diversity (H) and evenness (E) were almost similar at all stations; statistically, these indices were not significantly different. The temporal fluctuations in taxa richness and general diversity at the three stations followed the same seasonal trend approximating normal curves. The taxonomic composition of faunas was similar at all stations. Macroinvertebrate communities of the erosional biotope are compared with those of the bank-root biotope at all stations; the fauna of the erosional biotope was less sensitive to the perturbation caused by construction activities than that of the bank-root biotope.

摘要:
Colonies ofPlatythyrea schultzeiForel 1910 are obligately queenless, containing only 10–40 morphologically and anatomically similar, monomorphic workers. The role of the queen is filled by a single inseminated worker in each colony. The ovaries of this worker are physiologically active, while oogenesis is repressed in its nestmates.

摘要:
A complex of mesopedobionts in «suspended» soils of an epiphytic fernAsplenium nidusL. has been studied in tropical rain forests of southern Vietnam. Successions of pedobionts related to the mass of the substrate and its location over the ground surface have been investigated. Mineralization of organic matter in «suspended» soils is slower than in natural ones.

摘要:
The study of specimens ofCirconiscusPearse 1917 from Brazil resulted in the establishment of three new species:C. intermediusn. sp.,C. incisusn. sp. andC. gracilidensn. sp. herein described.C. gaigeiPearse 1917, type-species, andC. bezziiArcangeli 1931 are redescribed. An emended diagnosis is given forCirconiscus, and a key to the species is provided. The distribution of the eight species ofCirconiscusis illustrated on a map.

摘要:
The generic characters ofOdontopyge kollariiBrandt 1841, type species ofOdontopyge, have never been established with the result that association of the name with an actual species-group has been purely subjective and arbitrary. Although the original type specimen appears to be lost, a careful comparison of the detailed description with material taken near the type locality in the Sudan suggests very conclusively thatkollariiis a senior synonym toOmopyge zavattariiManfredi 1941. SinceOmopygehas generally been regarded as distinct from other taxa of the Odontopygidae at the subfamily level, substantial nomenclatorial modifications are mandated by the proposed identification ofO. kollariiand a revised classification of the family is provided. The many species previously referred toOdontopyge(sensu auct.) must be referred to other genera, some of which are still undefined.

摘要:
Aglymbus multistriatusn. sp. is described from material collected at light in the Kaffa province in Ethiopia. Elytron with eight or nine striae separates the new species from all other species of the genus. The EthiopianAglymbusare reviewed and certain aspects of the phylogeny of the genus are discussed. The genus now includes 22 species.

摘要:
A new stenograstrine nest from Papua New Guinea is described. The nest has an inverted flask-shape and is built mainly with inorganic material. Nest design and biogeographical considerations lead us to attribute the nest to an unknown species of the genusStenogaster. In the light of this we comment on the evolution of nest architecture and use of building material inStenogasterGuerin 1831 andEustenogasterVan der Vecht 1969.

摘要:
Yola counsellin. sp. is described on the basis of seven adult specimens from Cameroon. Distinguishing character states are given for the new species, which is probably closest related toY. grandicollisPeschet 1921 andY. darfurensisBalfour-Browne 1947. The bidessine species,Uvarus retiariusGuignot 1939, is recorded for the first time in Cameroon.
