In some cases, the responses will be prepared at the Committee's request by consultants with special qualifications in specific fields. Questioners are not named. Readers who wish to submit questions to the Committee should address inquiries to: Committee on Occupational Medical Practice, American Occupational Medical Association, 150 N. 摘要:
In this study, the sources of stress among supervisory police officers were explored. It was found that one of the major sources of stress across all managerial levels among the police was the perception that the police service was inhibited by unnecessary bureaucratic and outside obstacles, e.g., increased paperwork, interdepartmental politics, lack of adequate planning and resources and the inability of the courts to prosecute offenders. It was also found that junior and middle supervisory police officers were adversely affected by lack of available manpower and long working hours, whereas senior officers were affected more by the conflict in maintaining positive policing as well as good community relations.

摘要:
Functional and roentgenographic abnormalities in 131 asbestos-exposed shipyard workers were assessed in terms of duration of asbestos exposure and smoking history to determine the relative contributions of these factors. Both exposure and smoking contributed to the frequency of abnormalities in FEV1and FVC. In contrast, airways abstruction (FEV1/FVC < 70%) was unrelated to exposure but correlated closely with smoking. Abnormalities in DLCO were minimally associated with asbestos exposure, but were strongly related to smoking history, suggesting that diffusion impairment in these workers is more likely to be related to smoking. and emphysema than to interstitial disease did not correlate with exposure and was only mildly associated with smoking. Smoking contributes to many of the functional and roentgenographic abnormalities in asbestos-exposed workers.
