SUMMARYA concept of the present day public attitude toward epilepsy was gained through the quota sampling method of the American Institute of Public Opinion.Knowledge of Epilepsy is widespread. Over half the national sample is acquainted with an epileptic. A similar proportion has seen a seizure. School and play participation is approved by over half, objected to by one‐quarter. A link with insanity is denied by over half, affirmed by thirteen percent. Employment is advocated by forty‐five per cent, objected to by thirty‐five per cent.
