ABSTRACTThe term keraton is proposed to denote that specific subpopulation of epidermal cells that matures to form epidermis and horny layer exclusive of other functional units within the epidermis such as melanocytes, acrosyringium, acrotrichium, Langerhans' cells, and nerves.
