The Sunshine project was organized by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) to solve energy and environment issues. New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) controls the comprehensive research and development work of the project. In the Sunshine project, photovoltaic power generation (Solar cells, photovoltaic power generation system) is one of the key topics. The target of the development of photovoltaic power generation is to reduce the cost of photovoltaic power generation to the present power by early in the next century. This paper will report progress in the development.
