The Fifth Meteorological Congress will meet from April 3 to 28, 1967, for the purpose of submitting a world plan and implementation program of the World Weather Watch. Items to be discussed will be promotion of meteorological research and training; hydrometeorology and the International Hydrological Decade; organization of the scientific and technical work of the World Meteorological Organization; Antarctic meteorology; review of the work of the eight technical commissions; consideration of amendments to the convention and general regulations of WMO; WMO's participation in technical cooperation activities: technical assistance; special fund; and other aid programs. Also considered will be a study of various administrative questions and the public information program. Elections for President, Vice Presidents, and members of the Executive Committee will be held.
