Abstract.A ‘new’ antibody that recognizes a high‐frequency red‐cell antigen in the Kell blood group system has been found in the serum of a K–k+, Kp(a–b+), Js(a–b+) person, who is heterozygous for the silentKogene. The antibody, named anti‐K13, reacted with all of 1,000 unselected blood samples, but does not react with the red cells of the propositus, one of his five siblings, nor with Kocells.
