The academic year 1976–1977 saw four international conferences in transport theory. Two (at Oberwolfach, Germany, in November and Blacksburg, Virginia, in March) have already been reported in this journal.1,2The third was in Bologna, Italy in April, under the direction of Carlo Cercignani, and, unfortunately a report is not available. The fourth conference, at Graz, was attended by both the editor and associate editor, and is the subject of this report.
