摘要:
An investigation is presented into the use of submerged jests as a means of stabilizing the location of the hydraulic jump, instead of the traditional method of constructing blocks and baffles. Using jets of water issueing from underneath the channel bed to produce a force against the oncoming supercritical flow, a hydraulic jump is formed which requires a smaller tailwater depth. The theoretical analysis of the jet-assisted hydraulic jump is presented in graphical form and verified experimentally using a specially designed model which fits into a small closed circuit laboratory flume. The stabilization of the jump is dependent on a number of parameters but it appears that the angle of inclination of the jets has the most pronounced effect.
