Linkage studies provide significant evidence for loci conferring liability to schizophrenia on chromosomes 6p, 8p, and 22q with partial replication by others.There is suggestive evidence for loci on the short arms of chromosomes 3, 9, and 20. Multigenic inheritance is likely to underlie susceptibility to schizotypal personality traits and related psychoses.
