The mortality of women with ectopic pregnancy (EP) has decreased substantially in recent years, predominantly because of improved diagnosis. The development and widespread availability of ultrasound scanners equipped with transvaginal probes are integral for optimizing the noninvasive identification and exclusion of EP.
