As tuberculosis is now heavily concentrated in certain population“pockets,”changes in the approaches to case-finding are advocated, with the screening of schoolchildren seen as the primary modality. Various screening techniques are evaluated, and a concept is advanced to explain the known lack of correlation between positive delayed cellular hypersensitivity responses and true immunity to the disease.
