Developing an outreach program includes defining terminology and identifying the program's mission, the population served, and the geographic market segments. The three tenets of establishing an outreach program are as follows: Outreach is an ongoing process of developing relationships and providing services; outreach begins with the selection of team members and continues with support in developing their skills; and educational goals are best met by tailoring the training views of the presenter to the expected audience. Educational goals are best met by fostering the development of all flight team members through team selection, mentoring, and the creation of multidisciplinary teaching teams.
