Of theseO. castorandO. zamhiensisare new.O. exsul(Karny) is restored from synonymy underspissus(Walker) andO. exsul pallidusn. subsp. is newly described on the basis of phallic morphology.O. adustus(Walker),O. congoensis(Sjöstedt),O. imperator(Bolivar) andO. nigrospinosus(Sjöstedt) are confirmed as valid species.O. spissus(Walker) contains three subspecies, the nominate race, subsp.praemonstrator(Karsch) n. stat. and subsp.uranius(Kirby) n. stat.Catantops humilisvar.interruptusBolivar andCatantops camerunensisSjöstedt are newly synonymised underO. spissus praemonstrator(Karsch), whileCatantops majorKarny is n. syn. underO. spissus uranius(Kirby).
