摘要:

The construction of a multichannel direct reading spectrometer for the study of spark or hollow cathode sources is described. This spectrometer design allows the studý of different excitation sources with significant cost savings as compared with separate instruments. This report describes the instrumentation, hardware and software, used in the system which is capable of high-speed integration for time resolution in the microsecond range for transient events as well as simple data logging needed for continuous sources. The design of the system allows the analysis of extremely small samples such as the nanoliter size samples used in renal research. Preliminary data on instrument performance utilizing both the hollow cathode and spark emission sources is presented.
