ABSTRACTA model is presented for effectively providing primary care to a group of cancer patients within a subspecialty center. The individual members of the medical oncology team providing this care and their role in each patient's total care are described. In addition, there is a detailed explanation of how the team provides both physiological and psychological care in its response to the patient as a biopsychosocial being.
