The development of safer bone-seeking nuclides well matched to existing modes of imaging, together with their ability to detect (if not differentiate) some types of lesion before these are revealed by the x-ray, has made tracer diagnosis of bone disorders one of the more widely used applications of nuclear medicine. Case material is presented to demonstrate the properties of the nuclides and their capabilities.
