摘要:
ConclusionCarcinoma involving the cloacal zone consists of squamous, transitional and/or mucin‐secreting cells. Although the term “transitional‐cell cloacogenic carcinoma” has been used to designate this type of tumor, a conventional term, “basaloid carcinoma,” may be used to describe tumors which consist of a non‐mixed pattern of transitional cells. The prognosis of cloacogenic carcinoma is dependent upon early diagnosis and radical treatment. However, when the carcinoma involves the regional lymph nodes or there is evidence of an anaplastic pattern histologically, a poorer prognosis can be expected.
