Environmental physics is a subfield which is rapidly coming into its own in conjunction with society’s greater emphasis on solving environmental problems. A number of courses, articles, and books have been produced dealing with this new subfield, and these are analyzed. An outline of a course approaching the subject from the point of view of fitting it in with other physics courses is described. This course uses relatively recent examples from the environmental literature.
