SUMMARYRecent clinical and epidemiological studies of the nature and incidence of behaviour problems in various groups of children are reviewed and the effects of adverse environmental conditions on their development are discussed. Research into the treatment of deviant behaviour by means of behaviour modification techniques is outlined and topics for further investigation are indicated.
