The paper describes a case corresponding clinically and histologically to annular atrophic plaques of the face and resembling lichen sclerosus et atrophicus, morphea, and discoid lupus erythematosus (DLE). Immunopathological investigations were twice negative but afterwards revealed profuse immunoglobulin and complement deposits at the epidermal-dermal junction in the lesions both of the face and scalp, which became involved only lately. Raynaud’s syndrome of considerable intensity and then incipient abortive acroscleroderma without systemic involvement developed in the course of the 10 years of observation.
