IV. SummaryIn the history of Psychology the theoretical fate of the individual and the attendant norms for interpreting his behavior have evolved in an idiodynamic direction. The essential postulates of the idiodynamic approach are response dominance, configuration dominance, and idioverse dominance. Personality theory of this type is fundamental to any compelling conceptualization of the projective techniques but can not be used in isolation from the relevant aspects of the general‐experimental and psychometric points of view.
