For analyzing life-test data and estimating the length-of-life distribution function, Taguchi recommends the method of Minute-Accumulating Analysis (or ‘minimum-unit’ analysis), through the categorization of the available data into a binary form ‘1–0’ (‘alive-dead’). In this paper we investigate the advantages and drawbacks of Minute Analysis using an actual case study.
