66 THE ANALYST. PARIS GAS. THE following notes as to the gas supply of Paris will, perhaps, be of interest to some of our readers. The gas was tested i n a laboratory close to the Madeleine, on the 22nd, 23rd, and 24th May. Each day it was free from sulphuretted hydrogen; the amrlunt of sulphur in other forms was :- On the 1 s t day, 15.6 grains per 100 cubic feet ,7 2nd 7, 15.3 9 7 2 7 9 7 3rd 7 ) 15.1 7 7 ? t On the other side of the Seine, at a place not far from the Luxembourg Gardens, the sulphur, on the average of two days, was 11.5 grains per 100 cubic feet.
