Change in Human Electroretinography Associated with Thioridazine Administration

28 patients treated with thioridazine (TZ) were examined by electroretinography (ERG). The most characteristic feature was a decrease in amplitudes of the oscillatory potentials O2, O3 and O4. A significant correlation was observed between the daily dosage of TZ and the diminished amplitude as well as the delayed peak time of the O2 wavelet. When a dose of 400 mg/day of TZ was administered during a short time, similar ERG changes were induced.
