AbstractThis paper explores new applications of the consecutive-k-out of-n systems. presents the Birnbaum component reliability importance pattern for the consecutive-2-out-of-n systems. conjectures on the optimal system design of the consecutive-kout- of-n systems. and points out research directions for the optimal design of the consecutive-k-out-of-n systems.
