The volatile constituents of taro corms were isolated by steam distillation with subsequent extraction of the distillate with dichloromethane. The concentrated extract was analyzed by capillary GC and GC/MS. Sixty compounds were identified, among which aliphatic acids (50.3%), heterocyclic compounds (16.6%), phenols (9.3%) and alcohols (7.8%) were quantitatively significant.
