Successful Repairin uteroof a Fetal Diaphragmatic Hernia After Removal of Herniated Viscera From the Left Thorax

摘要:

Congenital diaphragmatic hernia is associated with approximately a 75% mortality, with the outcome related to the degree of pulmonary hypoplasia fromin uterolung compression as a result of early trans-diaphragmatic herniation. If the herniated viscera can be removed before birth, pulmonary development may permit postnatal survival. After 6 failures in fetuses, the authors report on a successful diaphragmatic hernia repair in a 24-week-old fetus.
