The Trent Polytechnic/University of Lancaster Curriculum Development Project was set up in1986 with major funding from the (then) Manpower Services Commission and British School Technology-Trent, and a small goodwill grant from the Joint Matriculation Board. The initial two years of the Project (1986–88) were concerned with the preparation of resources to support GCE A-level Design and Technology.
