The object of this article is to give a brief review of the operations of one company—The Scottish Agricultural Securities Corporation Ltd. (S.A.S.C.). This institution is the Scottish counterpart of the bigger and possibly better known Agricultural Mortgage Corporation Ltd. (A.M.C.) which was set up as a consequence of the Agricultural Credits Act 1928 for the main purpose of making long term mortgage loans to the purchasers of agricultural freeholds in England and Wales. A similar statute (the Agricultural Credits (Scotland) Act) was enacted in the following year to provide for the extension of the same credit facilities in the Scottish agricultural community, and as a consequence of it, S.A.S.C. came into existence.Some attention has already been devoted to the operations of the A.M.C.† It is hoped that this brief review of its smaller sister company will be of inter
