A basic assumption of many statistical tests is that the samples are drawn from normal distributions. However, if the data are rounded, the question arises of how this affects the usual tests. Tricker (1990) considered the effect of rounded normal data on the significance level of four test statistics. Here the power of these tests is investigated and whether this power is adversely affected for the degree of precision recommended in Tricker's paper.
