摘要:
This paper addresses a significant problem in the management of production/logistics systems: the influence of quality control activities on production scheduling. A sequential three-way classification decision model is presented for rapidly identifying trends in vendor lot quality. The effectiveness of this decision model is illustrated using a simulation model of a material and information flow system. The results show significant cost savings using this approach rather than the more traditional and passive methods of control over vendor quality.
