摘要:

A new stenograstrine nest from Papua New Guinea is described. The nest has an inverted flask-shape and is built mainly with inorganic material. Nest design and biogeographical considerations lead us to attribute the nest to an unknown species of the genusStenogaster.In the light of this we comment on the evolution of nest architecture and use of building material inStenogasterGuerin 1831 andEustenogasterVan der Vecht 1969.
