Frozen section reports of 490 specimens from gynecologic operations were compared to the final diagnosis made from paraffin sections. Accuracy of the frozen sections varied from 92% in cervical-cone specimens to 96% for other genital organs. There were no false positives. The results of this series do not justify the reluctance of some pathologists to perform frozen sections on cervical-cone material and endometrial curettings.
