摘要:
Four different paper types were evaluatedin vitrofor their suitability for the collection of gingival crevicular fluid and its subsequent quantification using both the Periotron® 6000 and measurement of the area of paper wetted. Whatman 3MM chromatography paper (Wh.3MM) was found to be the most suitable and strip dimensions of 2x8 mm were found to be the most absorbent whilst remaining compatible with the dimensions of the Periotron electrodes. The 2×8 mm Wh.3MM paper strips were used to derive a quadratic calibration curve, for a range of fluid volumes, which was shown to be a better fit than a straight line. Recovery of human serum proteins applied to these strips exceeded 90% even after compression of the strip between the electrodes of the Periotron during fluid volume measuremen
