A juvenile male tree snake collected by Ivan Sanderson on Mount Aripo, Trinidad in 1937 was wrongly assigned to the speciesLeptophis rivetiDespax 1910. The specimen represents a distinct species which is namedLeptophis stimsoniin this paper.
