ZusammenfassungAm Beispiel neuzeitlicher Anbindeformen im Kuhstall wird gezeigt, daβ die angeborenen, artspezifischen Reaktionsnormen in den Funktionskreisen Ernährungs‐ und Ausruhverhalten beim Rind trotz Domestikation nur in gewissen Grenzen variabel sind. Bei Überschreitung dieser Grenzen reagiert der Organismus mit Leistungsrückgang bzw. Krankheit.Im Zusammenhang mit der Massentierhaltung rücken das angeborene, artspezifische Sozialverhalten und in diesem Bereich besonders die Aggression in den Vordergrund der Problematik, in engem Zusammenhang mit der jeweiligen ökologischen Situation. Solchen Phänomenen beispielsweise beim Rind durch Enthornung zu begegnen ist lediglich symptomatische Therapie.
