The five species of the genusPenichrolucanusDeyrolle 1863 (Coleoptera Lucanidae) were re-examined and their aedeagi studied and a dichotomous key provided for their identification. The genus is removed from the subfamily Penichrolucaninae and placed in the subfamily Lucaninae. Specimens ofP. copricephalusDeyrolle 1863 andP. elongatusArrow 1935 were collected in Malaysia in termite nests ofHospitalitermessp. propemedioflavus(Holmgren 1913).
