摘要:

The potential of computer technology in nursing practice, education, administration, and research is now being realized. The preparation of nurses for the use of computers in these areas is of particular interest and concern to nursing educators. This paper describes the approach of a task force which studied the curriculum implications of computer applications in nursing. The findings of the task force are discussed, including the “state-of-the-art” of computer applications in nursing education, identification of “prototype” computer courses for nurses, and results of a survey of computer learning needs of students. Results indicate the need to provide opportunities for students to learn about computer applications in nursing and to include selected aspects of this content in the Baccalaureate and Master's curriculum. Recommended approaches to curriculum planning and implementation also are suggested.
