Continuous SvO2monitoring is increasingly used as a standard for monitoring of acutely ill patients. This continuous monitoring provides an opportunity for the critical care nurse to immediately evaluate patient responses to nursing care and treatments. Here the author describes how to interpret the SvO2levels using advanced physiologic concepts.
