摘要:

This article describes the evolution of a transdisciplinary team and its approach to the assessment of infants and toddlers identified as at-risk for developmental delay. The authors identify prenatal and perinatal conditions that result in an infant being considered at-risk. The assessment process is outlined and includes information regarding the various instruments utilized in assessing the cognitive, language, and motor development of infants and toddlers. Obstacles encountered with families that would prevent them from participating in this follow-up program are described, as well as methods found to be effective in alleviating these obstacles and increasing participation in the follow-up clinic.
