The question, “What is CT?” has been asked since the promulgation of the Surface Water Treatment Rule (SWTR) in 1989. Simply, CT is disinfectant contact time, which is the product of C multiplied by T. This article answers the following questions: What factors affect CT? How do I calculate CT? and What are your options?
