Among the objects recovered at Tayma in 1884 by J. Euting and C. Huber was a small fragment of a stone relief. Overshadowed by the more impressive “Tayma stone” and by the inscriptions found on the site, this small fragment remained unaccessioned in the Louvre until 1986, although a drawing of it had been published as early as 1887. The present paper discusses the piece, suggesting that it shows affinities to Neo‐Assyrian art.
