The principal concern of this paper is the analysis and design of Hartley and ColpittsLCoscillators. A systematic method for the design of these oscillators is proposed. Necessary and sufficient conditions for oscillation are derived. Optimum conditions which are obtained largely from experience are also summarized. Also, we illustrate an oscillator design example.
