In the article “Differential Effects of Information Channels in the Process of Innovation Diffusion” by N. Lin and R. S. Burt (September 1975): 256–68, the following corrections are necessary:1. In Figure 1, variables should be boxed in three blocks to correspond to the equations specified in the text:2. Although the analysis and discussion are unaffected, there are several errors in the path coefficients presented on pp. 265–68. In Figures 2, 3, and equations (2) through (6), all the residual coefficients should be the square-roots of the coefficients presented for all the endogenous variables. In Figure 3A,P91= −.261. In Figure 3C,P74= −.244. In equation (5b),P86= −.22. In equation (6c),P91= −.27. In Table 5, “deletions from Figure 3” should read “deletions from Figure 2” and “also delate all paths>.1” should read “also delete all paths<.1.”3. The equations in footnote six should read:wherej= number of within clique citations:k= 1, 2, …j;N= number of people in clique;Q= number of possible nominations a respondent could make; and αk=Q/(N−k).With the exceptions of the directions of the paths in Table 5 and the equations in footnote six, the authors are responsible for all the other errors and corrections.
