摘要:
The physical properties of 47 samples of various horizons of virgin and cultivated soils of varying organic content have been measured. These properties include loss on ignition, amount of clay, silt, and sand, moisture content at the sticky point, moisture taken up at 50% relative humidity, pore space, heat of wetting, volume expansion, maximum moisture taken up, index of texture, and apparent and absolute specific gravity. Correlation coefficients and indices of correlation have been determined together with the linear and curvilinear regressions giving the relations between these physical properties. These results show that with one exception the loss on ignition may be used as an independent variable to predict the other physical properties.
